Presidents Letter 11/11/2021

Greetings Members and friends,

As we started the new school year for TASBT, Robert Clakley stepped into the Presidential role with the plans to continue the progress that the organization has started. As President–elect, I started working with Robert to get our training back on track. It has been a difficult year for all of us with the pandemic and the restrictions it puts on all of us. It’s really hard to go from the norm of getting together with all of you for the fellowship and camaraderie to the new norm of social distancing or virtual meetings. It was really disappointing that we had to cancel all the spring and summer events but everyone’s safety is most important.

In October we started face to face training again offering six classes hosted by Cyfair ISD.  It was good to get started again. But unfortunately classes scheduled for November in Canyon didn’t make due to under enrollment. Then just as we posted the classes for January at Mansfield ISD, The upward climb in positivity in the Covid cases led Mansfield ISD to call for cancelation of the event.

Due to circumstances beyond his control, President Robert Clakley officially resigned from his post as TASBT President on November 19th 2020. In accordance with our Constitution and Bylaws, I will be filling in as Acting President until the completion of his term, at which time I will start my tenure as President. The board will be addressing the appointment an Acting President-Elect as soon as soon as possible.

As President, first of all, thank you for the opportunity to serve you and the organization. I am honored and look forward to bringing you the best training and knowledge possible. I pledge to continue the strides that the Past Presidents had started and to fully bring the organization to a higher level. I want to share some goals that I have as President:

  • Enhancing the Professional development courses to provide more insight into fundamentals and advanced diagnostics.
  • Provide advanced scheduling to enable better preparation and planning.
  • Enhanced communication through the website and email to keep you up to date.
  • Enhance instructor preparedness to help you have a better experience.

Look for more to come in the coming months. The Board and I are really elated to be getting back on track. We are looking for an alternate location for January classes, as well as planning for the League City training.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Best Regards,

Carl Klein
Acting President
